Smiley's words are unfair, unjust, and just plain wrong. Does he or anyone else honestly think that those who perpetrated Columbine did so in the name of Christ? Why, that's preposterous! They purposefully killed a young lady who had a robust Christian faith! I don't know his motives for saying this-I don't want to know why he has such a skewed view of this world-I just won't watch him anymore.
With 200 million or so guns in the US, there must be 200 millions killings a day that the mainstream media isn't reporting for some reason. This must be true because the mainstream media and lib Democrats tell us guns are only for killing.
The kids at Columbine were Christian? Every post-office shooting is done by a Christian - because they are what - not Muslim? What kind of "logic" is this?
I saw this video clip last night on Shawn Hannity's show and was totally offended by this remark. The young woman that he is talking with is Ayaan Hirsi Ali, the author of "Infidel." She knows first hand the dangers that are being posed by radical Islamists. In fact she was working on a documentary with Theo van Gogh, in 2004, about the subjugation of women in Islamic societies when he was murdered in broad day-light on a street in Amsterdam. Her book begins with these words; "One November morning in 2004, Theo van Gogh got up to go to work at his film production company in Amsterdam. He took out his old black bicycle and headed down a main road. Waiting in a doorway was a Moroccan man with a handgun and two butcher knives.
As Theo cycled down the Linnaeusstrat, Muhammad Bouyeri approached. He pulled out his gun and shot Theo several times. Theo fell off his bike and lurched across the road, then collapsed. Bouyeri followed. Theo begged, "Can't we talk about this?" but Bouyeri shot him four more times. Then he took out one of his butcher knives and sawed into Theo's throat. With the other knife, he stabbed a five-page letter onto Theo's chest.
That letter was addressed to me."
In my opinion Tavis Smiley chooses to bring Christians into the conversation when she tells him that these killers often times "look just like you and me." Smiley demonizes Christians, even while admitting he is a Christian, because she has pointed out the some Islamic killers are black. Smiley is acting on racism ... plain and simple. He juxtaposes Christianity with the killers at Columbine because everybody and his dog knows that those boys were white. It seems that only Smiley doesn't know that they were NOT CHRISTIANS! You will get the same argument from some that want to paint Nazi Germany as a Christian nation, when in fact Nazi ideology idolized pagan rituals. Christians have set quietly on the sidelines as these kinds of ideas have taken root here and around the world. It's time we said, enough!
I think the interviewer chose "dumb as dirt" based on her reaction. LOL.
