I got wind of a Public Employee Union (AFGE) rally in front of Claire McCaskill's office in St Louis late Wednesday morning. Big deal right? Well turns out this protest was planned and organized using TAXPAYER RESOURCES. Not only that, I had the proof from a reader tip.
Here's the email from AFGE union official Steve Hollis planning this rally. He used his TAXPAYER PAID FOR .GOV EMAIL ADDRESS. (Click The Images to Enlarge)
And here's the "Call/ Email Your Senator" Flyer he sent out. Note the fact that it tells members NOT to use govt email addresses.
I certainly enjoy watching them dig their own graves. How about the rest of you? ;)
ReplyDeleteJust curious if that was a US government license plate on the truck Hollis got into.
ReplyDeleteThis doesn't exactly rise to the level of scandal. It's more of a 'so what.'
ReplyDeleteAdam Sharp - You are a St. Louis legend.
ReplyDeleteAnother great video.
Wow that must have cost taxpayers a thousandth of a penny.
ReplyDeleteSeriously focusing on this trivial stuff distracts from the main issues. Thats their game, and a losing one at that.
Stay focused

Question - If he didn't remember to use his union e-mail to organize the rally, either he is a VERY bad IT guy, or just really damn arrogant.
Oh my god. This is just plain stupid. Are you arguing that using a government e-mail to distribute union information is illegal? How about checking U.S.C. 441 (b) (2) (A) regarding union (or corporation) communication using work e-mail for political purposes. Not only is this not a scandal, it's perfectally legal.
ReplyDeleteWhat's a "massive wage freeze"? Aren't all wage freezes the same size?
ReplyDeleteIsn't this a violation of Sarbanes Oxley the left is always trying to pin on Republicans?
ReplyDelete2USC 441 (b) (2) (a) Deals with contribution by banks. http://vlex.com/vid/contributions-expenditures-corporations-19137884
ReplyDeleteI think you're looking for the Hatch Act, 5 USC 7323-ish if I remember right. It's not about a union member using work email for political purposes. It's about restrictions on political activity for all federal employees, union members or not.
ReplyDeleteHow much taxpayer paid time have they used to set up and organize these shindigs?
ReplyDeleteWay back during the Scott Brown campaign, something made me recognize this as The Machine vs. The People. Kind of like pre-9/11, we weren't at war with them, but finally realized they were at war with us.
ReplyDeleteIt's now clearer than ever that public unions are the big cog in The Machine. Using his gov't email address is minor compared to the apparent level of animosity these public employees feel for taxpayers. Listening to him, you just know he can and will justify any work time, tactic, or resources they use to "fight back" against voter-demanded cuts.
They are supposed to work for us. How do you feel knowing that all the "official" reports and findings you rely on come from these people who are at war with you? When it comes to health care, suppose there's a point where a choice has to be made between level of care or higher compensation for public workers. You don't have to think too hard to know which side these guys will be on....and it's likely YOU will never even know the choice was made. Their control of the information we rely on gives them a crucial advantage in this "war".
This is a big deal. Unless this cat was accessing his USDA email account from home remotely, he was putting together a political rally while at work.
ReplyDeleteThat means you and I were paying this dude to do politics instead of whatever he was supposed to be doing as a government employee.
Does anyone except you idiot lefties think it is a good idea for politicians to pay government employees to work for or against politicians - even a little?
Remember when Adam Sharp used to pretend to stand up for the little guy? Now he's directly attacking workers with bogus claims and dressed as an SEIU member. He's the kind of guy who would sell out everyone around him just to get 2 seconds of fame on the blogosphere.
ReplyDeleteWho cares! He is doing work to fight against the corporate takeover of our economy. Stand up for what is right. Well done Mr. Hollis.
