  2. Are you going to post the rest of the video from the debate? I was there and Ed Martin came across as an arrogant hack. The moderator lost complete control of the crowd. Not once did I see any jeer Ed Martin even when he lobbed some big bombs; even Carnahan's supporters politely clapped for him. When Martin couldn't make an intelligent response to Carnahan's stand on DADT: we need brave men and women, NO MATTER their orientation, Ed throws a bomb guaranteed to get a reaction from his base, "Translation: Russ Carnahan supports gay marriage!" He acted like he was hosting a high school pep rally, not a serious debate. Riddle me this: How is it ok for him to perpetuate the wind farm lie, but mentioning Martin's ACTUAL criminal behavior is off the table?

  3. we all know who Russ is he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, and he probably does not hunt, cause he has more important things to do. Ed Martin is a cheerleader for idiots. I wish Russ would have been more proud of his taking guns out of hands of criminals, but thats why moderate democrats lose. Mr. Sharp you are truely the king of the idiots. The people who respond to my statments are also sub-humans. In a way i'm glad we think a different way.

  4. To LiberalStLouis: "Not once did I see any jeer Ed Martin..." Maybe that's because the good people of Jefferson County liked what he had to say.

To Anonymous: "The people who respond to my statments are also sub-humans." What an outrageous statement! Not only do you condemn people before you hear what they have to say but you label them as sub-human. Talk about being wrong on so many levels.

If your intention was to discourage people from responding I'm afraid it backfired. You obviously believe you are better than others because if anyone disagrees with you they are wrong. The Nazi's thought they were better people too. That's why they referred to Jews as sub-human.

Thanks for sharing this video so those who were unable to attend could hear both candidates in their own words. Most of us try to keep an open mind at a debate. The difference in the candidates was pretty clear.

  5. Yes, I'm sure some of the "good people of Jefferson County" liked what he had to say, but this decent resident of the City of St. Louis and Carnahan supporters in St. Louis City and Jefferson County have the class to know that at a moderated debate, rally, or even in a random meeting in the street, you show BOTH candidates respect and courtesy.

  6. "anninymouse said... stability in society?"

Here's a small scale example: A robber seeks to disrupt my little corner of society.
Messrs. Smith & Wesson helps me return him to the earth from which he came so he can continue the circle of life. Stability is restored to my little corner of society.

  7. Does that mean if they do not support Carnahan then they don't have "class"? Sounds like another way of saying you are better than them. Did you really listen to both sides of the debate?

  8. No, I'm saying anyone that heckles on EITHER side has no class. Just because I'm liberal, doesn't mean I'm not open-minded or independent. If I wasn't I wouldn't even read this blog. Mr. Sharp does a great job here and even though I don't agree politically with him, it doesn't mean I can't respect his passion or point of views. I listened VERY closely to all sides at the debate and agree with Martin and Ivanovich on some issues. What I saw at the debate was some pretty one-sided heckling and lack of basic respect. You decide from there.

  9. To LiberalStLouis: Thanks for the clarification. You do sound open minded in your last post but I wasn't sure after the first one. I probably unfairly responded to you because I was so hacked off at "Peter once from st.louis" and I apologize for that. My only other comments are I would cut the challenger a little slack. He is at a disadvantage and sometimes politics requires you to play dirty. I don't like it but I understand it. You can't get anything done if you're not elected. And as far as "class" goes, I continue to hope for people to show it but am no longer surprised when they don't. I'm afraid that's the society we live in today.
